Pratt?

I'm confused. Everyone seems to know that William's last name was Pratt all of a sudden and I don't know why. Please to explain?

It's in the new comic book about Spike which was created with the blessing of Joss. Now we have a last name for Faith (Lehane) and William (Pratt).

Ah. I wondered if that's where it came from. I knew about Faith's last name - was that from a comic too?

You know, I honestly don't remember where I first ran across it. Sorry.

Faith's last name is from the Eden Studios official Buffy the Vampire Slayer Roleplaying Game. For their forthcoming "Watcher's Guide" expansion they asked Joss to come up with a last name for Faith; to be kept totally secret until the release of the rulebook. Joss thought for 8 seconds, came up with 'Lehane', and then leaked it himself to the media immediately.

Hee! That must have annoyed them no end.

It's from advance information in the one-off Spike comic written by Peter David, that will be out the middle of next month.

I've pre-ordered the comic - where do people find advance information?

I haven't seen it directly (I have it pre-ordered too), but apparently some review copies were being passed around and a bunch of scans were on a forum called "Cold Dead Seed" (IIRC).

I haven't gone to look, because I'd rather see the comic when I get it. :-)

I'm not having that for a minute. This comic makes altogether too many sweeping statements about William, Cecily, Halfrek, and the fate of William's acquaintances for my liking!

I read some of the comments to [livejournal.com profile] rahirah's post on the matter, but haven't looked too closely at the plot points in the comic. I have it pre-ordered, just because I'm a wee bit obsessive and I feel like I should have it.

BTW, got my Elements of Style yesterday. My knowledge of grammar is so lacking that I do better with the examples than with the text, but I'm relieved to note that my use of commas isn't completely wrong. :-)

Hee. The introduction to Elements - 'Omit needless words! Omit needless words! Omit needless words!' is far and away the funniest grammar book passage I've encountered :)

Ah - and it just occurs to me that my comment above was rammed with spoilers! I'm so sorry - what a moron I am!

[identity profile] desoto-hia873.livejournal.com 2005-07-28 12:35 am (UTC)(link)
No fear - it was nothing I hadn't read in [livejournal.com profile] rahirah's LJ. :-)

So, Peter David's a Boris Karloff fan, is he?

[identity profile] desoto-hia873.livejournal.com 2005-07-26 11:54 pm (UTC)(link)
Do you suppose William's middle name was Henry? :-)

I pseudonyms go, I'll take Spike over Boris any day.

Not that I didn't love Mr. K.
