WriterCon Question of the Hour
To laptop or not to laptop: that is the question:
Whether 'tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The pains and achings of lugging it around,
Or to take arms against...
Er, scratch that. I have to get on a plane and cross a border on Thursday--better not mention taking arms against anything.
Should I bring it?

It's not so hard to get a laptop through security at an airport these days. Just be ready to pull it out of the case and send it through the X-Ray machine by itself. They don't generally ask you to turn it on anymore.
Also, just random advice (if you don't fly that often), wear slip-on shoes that you can step out of easily. Nowadays, you'll see half the people on any plane wearing shower clogs or flip-flops. It speeds everything up if you don't have to sit down an tie your shoes after going through security. :-)

I've flown and taken my laptop before, and getting through security isn't bad, you just have to take it out of it's carrying case and let them run it through the Xray machine, so you can carry it on to the plane.
