Hinton Battle

I watched Once More With Feeling with Joss's commentary last night - it was pretty interesting. He was so happy that they got Hinton Battle to play Sweet. I, of course, had no clue who Hinton Battle is, so I went on IMDB to see what else he's done. And, Good Lord, he was The Cat in Red Dwarf! That's hysterical!

On another note, I read somewhere that Brian Bonsall - Andrew Keaton in Family Ties and Worf's son on Star Trek: TNG - was on an episode of Buffy. I haven't been able to find out which episode, though - anyone know?

Was there a US version of Red Dwarf, then? Or a film or something? 'Cos Danny John-Jules played the Cat in the UK version, & I never saw anyone else play the role. Certainly not Sweet, heh! I'd have noticed, I'm sure.

Not aware of a US version. Maybe IMDB has it wrong?

Aha! Apparently...

'This US version of "Red Dwarf" failed to get past pilot stage, and has never been screened anywhere. It was basically a remake of the first UK Red Dwarf episode "The End" (the first episode of the series), with bits from other stories added in as well.'

That's kind of a shame - he would have made a *great* Cat!

Well, that clears that up. Probably just as well it never got made. You're right, he would have made a great Cat, but I just can't see a US production doing justice to the original...
