Happy Birthday!

Times two: Happy belated birthday to wickedgoddess_ (sorry about that, chief - I wasn't online yesterday) and not so belated to anniesj! Hope you both had/have great days.

Drabble

The prompt this week at open_on_sunday was 'writing'. This makes three weeks of drabbles in row for me - truly, I am a writing machine.

Halfrek shuddered. It had been a horrible evening. First she’d had to pose as a stuffy Victorian, attend a tedious party, and wait hours for her target to make a wish. Then, as if that hadn’t been enough, that insipid little man – William, was it? – had made calf eyes at her all night and, in a woefully misguided attempt at flattery, had composed a perfectly dreadful poem about her.

It was at times like these that Halfrek was grateful to have ascended from merely human to a vengeance demon – it was far better to be righting wrongs than writing them.

Is how many years old I became today. Does this mean I should know the answer to life, the universe, and everything?

Just came back from dinner out with my parents. We went to a seafood restaurant and now I am quite stuffed with scallops, shrimp, and marlin. My Dad gave me Starsky & Hutch (the movie - which is not quite as bad as I expected it to be, although no one will ever replace Paul Michael Glaser in my heart), Fantasia's CD, and The Watcher's Guide Volume 3. Heh. He knows my fandoms well.

I also received many lovely birthday wishes from my flist, including a pic of nekkid!Spike from drusplace, offers of fic from flurblewig and sunnyd_lite, and paid LJ time from flurblewig. You guys are the best!
