Lost

I finally watched the last two episodes of last season's Lost last night.

Lost spoilers. Is there anyone left to spoil? )

In other news, Bella is at doggy daycare for the first time today. She's settled into our household routine well, and we're better at speaking each other's language for sure, but she's still a little timid when confronted with new people and things. She spooked when a truck used its air brakes as I was walking her to daycare this morning, so she arrived there feeling kind of jittery. I could see her thinking, "And what fresh hell is this?" as she was led away from me. She does love playing with other dogs, though, so I know she'll have a good time there when she loosens up. And I'm going to go and pay her a lunchtime visit ::checks watch:: right about now to see how she's doing.

For anyone who has not yet heard: Nathan Fillion will be guest-starring on Lost! (Beware of mild spoilers if you click on the link.)

So, I bought a laptop last weekend. One with (in theory) wireless internet. I've been struggling all week to get the wireless part working. Tonight, I managed to get to the point where the router was working with the non-wireless computer that it's hooked up to, although my internet connection was sporadic at best. It was there, it was gone, it was there, it was gone... ARGH. And now it's completely gone. The power light on the router keeps blinking, which I'm thinking is not a good sign.

After a couple of hours of frustration and some long-distance coaching by Jim, I tried calling tech support. Their 1-800 number has been changed to a 1-900 number that costs $2.50 per call and then never actually rings. ARGH.

And all that futzing around - to no avail, I might add, as I'm back on my modem - meant that I missed most of Lost. ARGH.

::shoots router::

Can someone please tell me what the heck was going on with Charlie, Sawyer, and guns?

And there was much rejoicing. )

In less happy news, my cable apparently went out last night so I missed House. Can anyone tell me what happened?

Redhead? Sawyer's a redhead?? ::squints at icon:: Am I the only one not seeing red hair there?

I've never thought of Wash as a redhead either - to me, they both look blond.

So, for Jin, love is orange. And Michael's t-shirt in this episode was... heeee.

Anyone else find that other black guy hard to understand? I could only catch about half of what he said. Maybe it's the sound on my VCR.

ETA: Apparently, Sawyer's a redneck, not a redhead. ::is deaf::

I can't believe I didn't notice this:

Lost - Cast spoiler )

So we're, what, three weeks into the new TV season and already we're getting reruns? No new Bones this week (I'm trying to give it every chance) and a House from last season. The latter of which I didn't mind as I hadn't seen it before, but still. Three weeks! Sheesh.

I enjoy watching Lost, but am always amazed at how little each episode advances the mystery of the island plot. As it did (didn't) do last night. Where ever they're going, they're getting there awfully slowly.

Watched them both last night. I didn't mind the pilot of Bones too much, but the show seems to be getting worse with every episode. The characterisation of the scientists makes my eyes cross. The speed at which they ferret out clues makes my eyes cross. Their space age technology makes my eyes cross. The show is giving me double vision. Which is too bad because I think David Boraneaz is doing a pretty good job of acting. And I kind of like his skinny ties.

The geek needing advice on sex thing made me gag, but his line (paraphrasing here) "I understand her words, but don't comprehend their meaning" made me laugh. Objects In Space, anyone?

And, holy cow, did Bones herself ever need a bra in the opening scenes where she was walking towards the body!

Lost - Spoilers )

My theory on Lost:

Spoilers for Serenity. Go see it tomorrow then read this post. )

I think I like it because it makes so little sense.

I'm not really distressed - I just wanted to use the mood theme pic. *snerk*

If you're a Lost fan as well as a Buffy fan, check out [livejournal.com profile] archbishopm's version of Boone and Locke singing "Going Through The Motions" from Once More With Feeling here.

Just make sure you're not drinking anything when you read it.

Tonight's Lost )

Read on Whedonesque today that David Fury has quit the show and will be moving on to The Inside and next season's 24. I've liked his episodes the best - I hope Lost can keep its momentum. It should be interesting to see what he'll do with 24. (A little less torture at the drop of a hat would be nice.)

I need more Lost icons.

So, the castaways have been living on the island for a period of at least several weeks now, and yet none of them - particularly the women - have grown any 'unsightly' body hair. Kate went swimming in little more than a thong without showing so much as peach fuzz.

That must have been one wicked bikini waxing that she had before the flight.

I'm rather enjoying Lost - it's no where near replacing the Jossverse in my heart, but it is the show that I most look forward to watching at the moment. I didn't quite get the Big Divisive Issue of last night's episode, though. Why did the choice between beach and caves have to be all or nothing? Couldn't they live in the relative safety of the caves and have rotating crews of people maintaining the fire on the beach in case rescuers come?

Not entirely buying that the two bodies in the caves have been there slowly mummifying for 40 or 50 years, either. Surely in a jungle climate, they would decay rather than mummify. And decay attracts predators/scavengers - there were *no* animals or even insects snacking on them during all that time? I did a short course in forensic entomology last spring (which was fairly gross but interesting) - insects find bodies within hours and can reduce them to nothingness within weeks.

Interesting backstory on the Korean couple - I didn't see that coming. Does the watch mean that the Korean woman's father was on the plane, too?
