Mar. 23rd, 2007 01:51 pmToday is Moving Day-6. Jim and I signed the mortgage papers at the bank yesterday. ::gulps:: I'm excited, but also somewhat anxious. Instability--even the temporary instability caused by packing everything I own into boxes and not being able to find anything--makes me twitchy. It will be a relief to get this over with and to know that I don't have to do it again anytime soon.
The World Figure Skating Championships have successfully prevented me from getting any packing done this week. Usually I watch them with my cousin Stephanie, but she lives three hours away now. So she learned how to IM and last night we watched them together that way. It was fun and helped make up for the fact that the Canadian men didn't skate very well. :-(
However, packing inroads have been made: my mother came down last weekend to give me a hand. My apartment now looks like a warehouse, which is less than optimal for showing it to prospective tenants, but that's life. The showings meant that I had to be home for several evenings in a row, which in turn meant I had time to beat Chapter 3 of the still-unnamed Spuffy fic into some semblance of submission. It's off to the betas now and will likely be posted sometime this weekend, for those (both? :-) of you who are interested.
This is the first time I've had a WIP to be updatey with. I feel like a real fanfic author now.
I also have my next ficathon assignment. It requires plot, which isn't really my strength. Actually, I'm not sure what my strength is, but it's not plot. Still, I will persevere--plot is something I need to get better at if I want to write anything substantial someday. If anyone feels like brainstorming about plots, do let me know.

The DVD Commentary Meme:
If you've ever watched your favorite dvds, and then found yourself eager to hear exactly what the actors, directors, writers and even production designers thought about making the episode, the movie, or whatever - you'll know sometimes the best parts of dvds are hearing the commentaries. Getting into an actor's feelings about the character they play, getting the background behind a writer's plans and metaphors, even just getting the stupid anecdotal stuff that makes you laugh, it's all good.
Ask me about any story, and I'll do a DVD commentary for it! Satisfy your curiosity!
I feel a bit silly posting that because I just haven't written very much, but what the heck. It'd be fun.
