They grow 'em big in Peterborough
Oct. 19th, 2007 04:27 pmJim's about six feet tall. His ex is just a little shorter than that. LittlestJim is the tallest kid in his class and on his soccer team. He has a friend from school who is small for his age, and LittlestJim *towers* over him. It's pretty funny watching them play together.
MiddleJim seemed to be about average height for his age (he's almost 13), but I think he's going through a growth spurt. At the start of the summer, he was still a little shorter than me, and we weighed almost exactly the same. We were similar enough in size that we actually shared a pair of shorts. Jim discovered them in his dresser one day and didn't know who they belonged to. I tried them on and they fit and so I claimed them--until the next kid rotation came around and MiddleJim identified them as his. For the rest of the summer, he'd wear them during the weeks that he was with us, then leave them for me to wear when he was at his mother's house.
It's now well past the end of summer, and MiddleJim no longer looks up at me--he looks down. (When I did miss 'across'?) He's starting to get that inverted triangular body shape that men have. His voice does funny things when he laughs which makes me think that it's going to change soon. And he now weighs ten pounds more than I do.
I have a feeling that, in the not too distant future, I am going to become the family dwarf.
The upside? Next summer, those shorts are mine. :-D
