She's known him for decades. No one except Wilson knows House better than Cuddy. If she had doubts that she couldn't deal with him in her heart, then she shouldn't have initiated the relationship in the first place (which she did).
Also, she blamed the end of the relationship on him.
I had someone do more or less the same thing to me 10 years ago. It's a sore spot.
People make mistakes all the time and hurt themselves and others. I know this. But she KNEW what she was getting into and what it was likely to do to House if she bailed. She should have been less impulsive and done more soul searching before getting involved with him or tried a lot harder to see things through.
