A Question

desoto_hia873Still working my way through BtVS S7. I watched Lies My Parents Told Me this morning - definitely one of the better episodes of the season. Then I watched it with the commentary on. I was amused to hear David Fury saying that Spike is unique among vampires in that he retains some of his humanity even in his soulless state (this was with reference to William still loving his mother and wanting to turn her). Fanfic authors have been saying this for years - it was funny to hear it coming from one of the writers.
A question about the episode, though: How did Spike and Drusilla get back into his house to turn his mother? The scene starts with them in the sitting room - it's a couple of minutes before his mother comes in and finds them there, and she's very surprised to see him. There was no mention of a maid or anything. Technically, they shouldn't have been able to get in without an invite.
Do alot of beta reading and this is how it changes your brain. :-)
