[livejournal.com profile] cabridges has started another Firefly fic called "When The Devil Drives". Set post-Serenity, it's planned to be a novel-length genfic. Excellent humour and character voices. You can find the links for it here.

And so I present you with a Firefly rec: Indistinguishable From Magic by [livejournal.com profile] kieyra. If you were heartbroken by the events of Serenity, this fic will make you feel better. And it's beautifully written.

I just read the first three chapters of a brilliant Firefly fic written from the POV of Nathan Fillion. Yes, Nathan - he starts out at the Flanvention and unexpectedly gets sent to Serenity (the ship, not the movie) where he has to figure out how to keep the rest of the crew from realising that he's not really their captain and how to live Mal's life without getting shot. It's great! The character voices are absolutely perfect. It's called Visit to a Weird 'Verse, Re-revisited, it's by [livejournal.com profile] cabridges, and you can read it here.

Today is my second LJ anniversary. ::beams:: I can tell when the date is coming near because it always seems to coincide with massive kerfuffles.

I found LJ through [livejournal.com profile] redeem147 who referred to [livejournal.com profile] open_on_sunday drabble challenges over at Spike's Salvation. Through LJ, I've gotten to know people I would otherwise never have met, read fics I would otherwise never have known existed, and generally just enjoyed myself most thoroughly. It's a good place to be and I'm so very happy to be here. Thanks, Colleen, for pointing the way.

In the spirit of promoting all that is right about fandom, and also in support of Fanfic Author Appreciation Week, I share with you now three authors I've discovered in this past year:

[livejournal.com profile] sockmonkeyhere writes wonderful post-NFA Spred, the return of Oz, and some of the best OCs ever. No, really, ever.

[livejournal.com profile] st_salieri writes thoughtful, observant, completely believable Spuffy and has a knack for getting the character voices just right.

Several weeks ago, I had a dream in which I was Kaylee and having an affair with Jayne. It was a nice dream. :-) It left me with a hankering and I went in search of Jaylee fics and discovered [livejournal.com profile] wily_one24. If Jaylee is your thing, check her out.

Go thou forth and read. And celebrate fandom, for it is good.

This is neat: Skull and Pearl by [livejournal.com profile] srichard. It's a post-Serenity fic, Mal/River, written for the [livejournal.com profile] 1sentence challenge, which is to write one sentence for each of fifty prompts. That sounded kind of weird to me and I didn't think it would work, but it kinda does.

Go now and read Synesthesia by [livejournal.com profile] laytoncolt (spoilers for Serenity). Guh.

...for the birthday fic that [livejournal.com profile] flurblewig wrote for me: The Last Action Heroes. Serenity/BtVS crack!fic - and the pairing? Jayne/Kristina. :-D

Spoilers for Serenity, but hasn't everyone seen it by now? Go read.

I've read very little Firefly/Serenity fanfic. Don't know why - you'd think that I'd have a hankering for it given how few episodes there are to watch, but I don't. Go figure.

But I did run into this today. Very nice. Contains spoilers for Serenity, so don't read until you've seen it.
