I had definitely, absolutely decided not to get a permanent account, and now half my flist seems to have bought one. The sheep-y part of me is straining against my better judgement. Permanent accountiness looks so shiny! Why is the Canadian dollar worth so much less than the US dollar??

I'd just decided when last they were on sale that I wanted one. I'm not going anywhere (I've been here since 2001, and since I'm still on a mailing list I joined in 1993, I *do* stick around places I like) and I just like knowing that I don't have to pay for LJ any more. (Which is about why I also bought a lifetime ACM membership. I like permanence.)

Don't do it, dude. :) There's lots of other things you can spend that much money on, and if it's just about the icons - they said in the post on the frontpage that the option for 100 will be open to paid users soon.

I wonder if there's ANY chance of an Ottawa screening? Probably not. I'm racing in the Dragon Boat Festival on the weekend following the rumoured screening date - I'm gonna be a big bag o' dirt by Sunday evening if I have to drive to Toronto and back that week as well.

But I really want to see it. And maybe Joss or one of the actors will show up too. The things we do for love. :-)

Honestly, eating nothing but cornflakes for a week is a great way to save money for spending on frivolities. I highly recommend it! (NB this is not sound nutritional advice and I am now somewhat orange).
