Firefly Observations

Just a quickie as I reeeally need to get to bed:
Been watching Firefly again as a warm-up to the Big Damn Movie later this week (obligatory squeeee!). In Ariel, Jayne really was wearing a Blue Sun t-shirt when River slashed him with the knife - I didn't see that the first time around. And - same episode - when Wash and Kaylee are digging in the dump to get the parts they need for the 'ambulance', it looks like Wash picks up a coil compressor, shakes some sand out of it, and then hurls it away. Which, if that is in fact what it was, is a neat reference to the previous episode, Out of Gas.
Mal was my favourite character the first time through, but I must say that Jayne is giving him some competition this time. He just cracks me up. I'll get to see Adam Baldwin at SFX; I'm crossing my fingers that Nathan shows up at the screening on Thursday.
Oh yes - I'm turning Jim into a flan. Brought my DVDs down to Peterborough this weekend and we watched Serenity and The Train Job. Then he asked me to leave a couple of the DVDs behind so he could watch more eps before the BDM. :-)

Date: 2005-06-20 04:23 am (UTC)Kristina: *pleading* Forgive me Joss! I weak and unworthy and vaguely resentful that BtVS and AtS weren't getting your full attention. But I'll never do it again - my faith has been restored. I'm shamed that I doubted you!
Joss: *closes airlock*
So let's hear a resounding cheer of "I CAN'T BELIEVE THEY CANCELLED THIS SHOW!".
I don't care, there's DVD
You can't take my show from me...

Date: 2005-06-20 04:01 pm (UTC)At the American screenings, they've apparently been handing out placards and key chains. I'll see if I can score one for you. :-)

Date: 2005-06-20 04:05 pm (UTC)Hee! I started seeing Jim last summer. I figured I'd better get him used to the Buffy fandom idea from the start, so we watched Welcome to the Hellmouth that first weekend. Ever since, he's asked to watch more episodes whenever he comes to Ottawa - if we don't get three or four in, he's disappointed.
Spreading the word of Joss. It's my mission from God. :-)
