Home Again, Home Again

I haven't posted anything personal in, well, a looong time - not been feeling very chatty, for various reasons. The kerfuffle. The hurricanes. The sudden and unexpected death of one of my favourite university professors. The murder of a teenage girl in my neighbourhood. There just seems to have been more bad than good in the world lately.
(Sekrit note to P. and
frimfram - I think some things are getting better.)
But life does go on. My cousin's daughter (and that makes her ?? to me?) had her second birthday on the weekend. She's big for her age, but still the cutest little thing. She was completely thrilled by her party, and ran around chattering and diving into gift bags for hours. Every new toy produced shrieks of delight. Every piece of new clothing had to be worn - all at the same time. She loves dressing up, so my cousin gave her a knapsack filled with necklaces, bracelets, a feather boa, and fluffy slippers with *heels*. She put everything on at once and looked like Blanche from The Golden Girls. Hee!
Other than that, it was a quiet weekend. I did unexciting things like sleep, laundry, and the dishes. I finished Nikita S3 on Friday, perused my collection of DVD box sets, and decided to watch AtS S5. I haven't watched any AtS episodes since it was on the air (*gasp*), having been somewhat preoccupied with Firefly and Nikita of late. I'm two episodes into it and I have to say:
It's good to be home again. :-)
(I also have a few things to say about the theme of 'conviction' in all three Joss series, but I'll save them until after more people have seen Serenity so as not to spoil anyone.)

Date: 2005-09-27 09:18 pm (UTC)Sekritly very, very, VERY glad to hear that.
Glad your weekend was soothing - if a spell with a prima donna toddler can be soothing! :) And you must've just seen Just Rewards, then? I love Ghost Spike... GOD I love Ghost Spike.
Sorry things have been horrible for you lately. I hope variably corporeal vampires and cowboys in space can nurse you back to vibrancy :)

Too right it is. But conflict makes for dramatic tension, right? And no one wants their life to be The Waltons.

Ah, I just said a bunch of things beginning with 'v'. There's no art to it ;)
