Wow...I think I would curl up and become completely non-responsive after three days away and just rock back-and-forth muttering to myself - not that I have a problem or anything ;)
Are you back for good? Or just checking in? Stay strong!!!
I say "boo" to your no home access! That sucks...I have been there before and it's amazing how much of a difference it makes...it was then I found out about my addiction...lol
And thanks! deathisyourart made it for me for my birthday :) It's my default-icon now...my first non-fandom related one too...weird!
Ack! You've just described one of my worst nightmares!
When we switched over our providers a few years back (and trust me, this was a BIG deal -- we'd been with the same DSL provider since DSL first came on the market), we ended up with a weekend without internet access... and I resorted to getting permissions on several friends' wireless networks so I could pull into their driveways at 2:00am and download my mail. I don't know what I would have done if I hadn't had alternatives like that!
I have internet access at work, but can't get to my Yahoo email as they've blocked the site. And I won't have internet at home until Friday - ack! At least the cable guy showed up on time on Saturday - if I had to live without net access *and* TV, I'd probably lose my mind. :-)
::crosses fingers that they never block access to LJ fro work::
I didn't even have a friggin' phone for two and a half days - someone messed something up when they switched the line over and they didn't send a repairman until yesterday.
I hate moving. Preaching to the choir! We've moved... let me see... 6 times in the last 8 years. But then we were student for the first 3. *This* house I'm staying in for AT LEAST 10 years!!!
When we moved in April I made sure I had internet access on moving day. Which was probably a bad idea as the guy had to climb over boxes, but I just don't have the willpower to stay away!
For some indefensible reason, Bell requires five days to switch a line over from regular to high speed. I'm feeling a little cynical towards them at the moment - they managed to mess up transferring my phone number over to the new place so I spent nearly three days with no phone. This baffles me entirely - I mean, aren't phone lines their business? Shouldn't they know how to do it by now??
It's so annoying! The computer's all set up, but it won't do anything *useful*. (Well, if you consider email, fanfic, and LJ useful. :-)
It has also, for some reason, suddenly decided that my printer is new hardware (I've had it for more than two years) - I can't find the installation disk in amongst the mess of boxes and can't go online to get the driver either.
I can't access my Yahoo account from work - nasty IT people have blocked it - so if you need anything betaed before the weekend, send it to my Magma account.
It went about as well as could be expected. Moving is A PAIN! But at least it's done now. Of course, I still have a fair amount of unpacking to do, but my Serenity poster is on the wall. :-)
