I watched Lies My Parents Told Me the other day with the commentary on. I've heard before that Spike and Drusilla were modelled on Sid Vicious and Nancy (? - don't remember her last name). In the commentary, they were likened to Bonnie and Clyde. Which pleased me immensely - I wrote the drabble below last year for Open On Sunday when the theme was Tori Amos Song Titles (the title of the drabble is also a Tori Amos song title).
Title: '97 Bonnie and Clyde
Setting: BtVS Season 2
Rating: PG
They roared into town together in a classic black 1958 Desoto Sportsman. The "Welcome to Sunnydale" sign disappeared beneath its wheels as they braked in a cloud of dust. They were here for the feast of St. Vigeous, to kill the Slayer and chop her into messes, and to make his beloved well again. Then they were going to have a coronation down Main Street and drink for seven days and seven nights. It was time for a little less ritual... and a little more fun.
It was 1997. They were Bonnie and Clyde. Sid and Nancy. Spike and Drusilla.
[A/N: Lucky for me, School Hard was originally broadcast in 1997.]
