I watched the first episode of Law & Order: Trial By Jury this morning (taped from Thursday night - I missed the Friday night episode, phooey). It was pretty neat seeing Bebe Neuwirth and Candice Bergen in new roles. And a little wrenching seeing Jerry Orbach in one of his last performances. :-( He seemed such a likeable guy and had an interesting career.

I was looking forward to seeing Numb3rs for the first time this week (on beadtific's recommendation), but somehow I managed to tape Jag instead. Grr argh.

In unrelated news, four RCMP officers were shot dead on Thursday in a raid on a marijuana growing operation out west. Canada is generally not a violent country, so this was jarring news, to say the least. One of the officers had been on the force for only a couple of weeks. And for what? Pot.

That strikes me as being pretty close to dying in vain and it makes me very sad.
