I got my Done The Impossible DVD last week and watched a good chunk of it last night. It's pretty cool and has a lot of bonus features. I was a bit sad that the June 23 preview screenings weren't specifically mentioned in the Interactive Timeline as that was the one I actually went to. But that's a pretty minor quibble. I was a relative late-comer to the Firefly fandom (I didn't watch the series until it came out on DVD), so it was interesting to learn about all of the history that I missed out on. The audio from an entire Q&A session with Joss, Tim, Ben Edlund, and half the cast is included in the Interactive Timeline--that one feature alone is an hour long. There were a couple of videos from Q&A's at other cons, but I don't know how long they are. I had to give up and go to bed sometime.

I got 10/10 on the easy quiz. :-) The medium quiz, however, looks just about impossible.

One thing that caught my eye was the fact that one of the interviews was with a fan who was wearing a WriterCon 2004 t-shirt! I had to wait until the credits to find out what her online name was--turns out that it was [livejournal.com profile] agilebrit. I think I met her briefly at this year's WriterCon, but I am terrible at remembering faces and didn't recognise her.

Ah, so that's what all the extras were. Makes the doc a lot more tempting. And yes, odd that they left out those preview screenings, we went to one too.

I haven't watched all the extras yet--there are so many of them! Several videos are imbedded in the Interactive Timeline, but there are others in the bonus features menu. One is a tribute to the late Lux Lucre, a Firefly "uberfan" who passed away before Serenity was released. Adam Baldwin teared up a little when he was talking about him. It was quite moving.

I was also late to the verse.

Saw most of the DVD some of it buggy. Have not gone through the DVD-ROM yet as I don't feel like sitting at my computer for long periods just to view video.

Was there a patch in the first third of the documentary where it wouldn't play properly? There was on mine--I was wondering if this was a "universal" feature.

I heard there was a patch online but I have not downloaded it yet to play on my DVD-ROM

It was buggy on my DVD player. Some of the timeline voice overs would not work and it does not easily return to the main menu. I did accidentally find the easter egg with the Jewel embarassing moment.

Ooo, I hadn't heard about that! How do you get to it?

I was in the second DVD menu and I was trying to get back to the main menu. Pushing the top menu for me got this video. Actually I think it happened several times while I was trying to get back to the main menu which got frustrating.

There is a commentary on the DVD vide and I wanted to turn it off and get back to the main menu but up would pop this easter egg.
