It's warmed up a little after the falling ice pellets of yesterday and the world is sheathed in glass. I wiped out in classic fashion in the parking lot and now I have a sore butt. Woe, woe, woe.
Ice. I fear it. I was caught in an ice storm last winter (my fist ever as a driver) and whoa. I'm all Post Traumatic Ice Disorder now -- it started to rain the other day and I cancelled my plans on the mere suspicion ice might happen.
You should have been here for the Great Ice Storm of '98. Actually, *I* should have been here - I was in southern Ontario for most of it (where all it did was rain), but I did see the aftermath. Anyway, it was muy impressive - trees splintered, hydro towers were crushed, and some people were without power for weeks (in January. Fun). You can find some pics here (http://www.occdsb.on.ca/~sel/cyberpal/storm98/storm98.htm).
