Waiting

My sister is going into surgery, um, pretty much right now. It's not life-threatening, but she'll be off work for quite a while. I know she's in good hands, but it's kind of giving me the wiggins.

*hugs* Waiting for news on surgery is like the hardest thing in the world. Do you have someone with you, because it really is a lot worse when you're by yourself. (Said from personal experience.)

I'm sitting here at work and am not really able to concentrate on anything. I'm seriously thinking of just giving up and driving over to the hospital. In fact, I think I will...

Unless you're with somebody, hospital waiting rooms are not such great places. If others are there, however, it'd probably be a good idea.

Otherwise, I've been saving up a lyrics game for a while, I think I'm going to post it now if you feel like a bit of mindless distraction.

In the end, I went - I knew my mother and brother-in-law would be there and my father turned up as well, so we all kept each other company. She came through it fine and is now happily floating on a cloud of morphine. And hugging the enormous stuffed frog that I bought for her. :-)

It's not particularly risky surgery, but I'm really tense at the moment anyway. I think I'm going to take an extended lunch and go over to the hospital - my mother and brother-in-law are there.

Yes, she's OK. She'll probably be in some pain tomorrow, but today morphine is her friend. :-)
